Scribbler
(From Hello Recording Club, July 1995)

He was a scribbler
Found out everything he could
Made up his offer
Right now it's looking good

Wasted every night
And then she lights him with more evidence
Squinted in the sun
He sees his contract has crayon on it

He was a scribbler
Back living on his own
He tried to call her
She's in but cannot talk and

Once upon a time
He wouldn't find her so invincible
Everyone was gone
He played a song
That she could never hear

You can tell me now
I would never change a story
'Cause I know
You can tell me now
Or you're really gonna be sorry

He was a scribbler
In very high demand
Gets seven figures
For telling us about it

Brought down all the lights
And went outside
She's making confidence
Promised to never tell
But you might as well
'Cause it's already spent

He was a scribbler (x7)
