Interact I OFFICIALLY DECLARE THE YAHOO GROUP DEAD DUE TO LACK OF INTEREST. Hey, couldn't know you didn't want it until I tried it. I can't take the page below down, though. Freedy quoted it at Makor. Therefore, it must live on as a kind of museum piece. If you have questions you want to ask, feel free to ask me. You can email me directly--adair@marybethpinto.com--or you can fill out this form if you're away from your own computer or afraid I'm going to do something retarded with your email address. (I won't, by the way.) Links to the group have been rendered inactive; if you are one of the handful of folks who did sign up, sorry. I'll soon be working the Freedy-and-related-artists concert calendar into this site, and I'm also hunting for a decent place to store the files (audio bios, print-scaled images) that were there.
As a new feature, I've started an open-registration group for Freedy fans at Yahoo! Groups. The Freediots list will enable fans to: keep up on shows not listed on Freedy's often-down, lackadaisically updated official site, or on TicketMaster let each other know about rarities and guest appearances on other albums swap album rumors chat about the latest news, reviews, or whatever else you like . . . Because the messages are archived on the site, a simple adjustment to your preferences (you can ask that messages not be emailed to you, or only be emailed to you as digests) can make it function like a message board. Even better, there's a calendar built into the group's function, meaning that information about upcoming shows and album releases will be centralized. I've already listed what shows I was able to find out about--and I'm sure I don't know about them all. Basically, I want to make this a great site, and in my experience the best sites are responsive. So if there's anything you want to see on this page, it's an easy way to let me know (you can also fill out this form if you have a simple question, or want to make comments without giving your email address). And, because a pack of Freedy fans knows more than even the most vociferous solitary Freediot, this is a good way to find the answer to any question not covered on the site. Please?
Details of THE LIST: How to sign up: Visit this page, enter your info, and poof! You're in. If you don't want to get lots of email, just set your preferences accordingly. Rules: Moderation?: I'm the list owner, but I won't be moderating it. For those new to listservs, a moderated list requires the owner's approval before messages can be posted. I won't be doing that. If anybody says something extraordinarily out of line--to be honest, I can't even think of an example--I'll give a warning; if they do it again, I'll kick them off. As I said, though, I have real difficulty thinking of a circumstance that would make that necessary. Just, you know, "conduct yourself like a human", don't do anything to get me in trouble with copyright law, and all will be well. Subject: I have no plans to be a topic Nazi and scream every time somebody discusses something other than Freedy. Given the undeservedly small audience for Freedy devotion, I have a feeling this list will be composed almost entirely of friends and immediate family members I force to join, so I don't anticipate problems. Features: Active: Messages, calendar, chat (when multiple users are logged in for it), beginning of file section (station id from CYM) Pending (requires specific content or more users): Polls, Files (sounds files of station i.d.'s, audio bios from promos, etc), Database (faq, contact info, any info that can be stored in a tabular format). If you want it, it will appear . . .
