Discography

Albums:

Time was, all of these were commission-free links. Then I decided, given that: a. I don't have money, and b. getting commissions in no way costs you money, that was completely stupid. iTunes links now give me commissions on anything you buy during that session (it needn't be one of the albums linked to); down the line, others probably will as well.

The Trouble Tree, Can You Fly, and Unlucky can also be bought directly from Bar/None. This is what I actually recommend. If you're looking for promo singles and rarities, vinylvendors is probably your best bet. I haven't seen any import singles for him, but if any ever do turn up, they will be at Esprit or everythingenglish.com.

Guest appearances, compilations (in print/available):

Jazz Passengers In Love, which features Freedy on "Your Ambivalence," is out of print. I found my copy at vinylvendors, and one may also find a copy here (sometimes!). If both of those options fail, brace yourself for a bidding war with Jeff Buckley fans on eBay.

***This album is one song. Well, it is a "radio" version of the song, and then a 69 minute version. That's not a typo. It holds the Guiness record for longest pop song. 69 minutes, seemingly innumerable verses, all of them following the same form. Poised somewhere between gleeful OuLiPo-esque experimentation and listener torment, you will find The Devil Glitch.

Freedy and James MacMillan, apparently his original partner in the Know-It-All Boyfriends, contributed the music for one segment of the song. Be warned: you won't hear Freedy sing. But that should not dissuade you in the least from buying it. It's fun, strangely catchy, and--and AND!!--it mentions my alma mater. Almost did a spit take when I heard that line.

I recommend buying it direct; it's a tad low-tech, but I have to figure the artist makes more money that way or he would just link to Amazon, etc. And your copy may arrive with the wrapper signed! Good stuff.
